The Adventures of Willy Wiper

Some 31 years ago The Princes Trust helped the founders of Wray Bros, Graham and Mark Wray, two under privileged kids from Toxteth, start a new business.

Their venture was given a loan by the Prince's Trust to convert unwanted charity shop clothes into rags and wipers. They faced stiff competition from other Wiper businesses, so in an effort to be memorable Graham and Mark called their business Willy Wiper!

Just as Wray Brothers has grown and developed over the years. So has Willy, who has had a dramatic makeover since he first appeared! Now, 30 odd years on, Willy has evolved and our much loved character is noticeably slimmer and a lot less
alien looking!.

Willy soon dropped the bib and brace as well as bit of extra padding and took to wearing his iconic red overalls and always with his trusty, yellow wiper close to hand. That's not all, in the these safety conscious days, Willy is dressed for the busy workplace. Willy now wears suitable PPE, such as donning protective gloves, cool safety trainers and to finish the look a bumper cap, though never worn backwards!
